What's going on in Scale...
Something catches our eye in scale modeling
Look carefully....It's Z Scale.
On a very professional website, ztrains.com, the smallest of model railroading scales (1:220) is covered by John Cubbin. Appropriately named, ztrains.com is rich with technical tips, design ideas, and lots of information useful for Z scale, and other scales as well. Several contributors to the site are names you will recognize from the model railroads press or are manufacturers you know. What really caught my attention on this site was the interview with Rob Kluz of ZTrack magazine.

It's an enlightenment for those who have heard of Z scale but haven't thought much beyond the one simple fact that it's small. Rob covers the history of Z Scale and its growth in popularity and availability. Elsewhere on the site, the uncomfortable "coffee table" stereotype of Z scale layouts is discussed. That article considers the truly spectacular operational possibilities of Z Scale.

There's a whole lot more the Z scale than meets the eye.
ZTrains.com was previously selected as the NMRA Webmaster's Choice. I'm sure you will find it's worth a look.
