| This is not a new product but this is certainly something new model railroaders should see... V-Scale. Computer simulations have been around for a while but this is different. Mark Baldwin has built a virtual model railroad that runs on his computer. Mark calls this "V-Scale" model railroading. It may not be for everyone but its part of the continuing evolution of model railroading that has been going on for a century. V-scale was inevitable following the growing field of simulation that includes Trainz, MS Train Simulator, and the games that preceded them like Railroad Tycoon. Mark Baldwin's "V-Scale" Gilpin Tram set in Colorado USA will be shown in the August 2005 issue of Railroad Model Craftsman. |
